Danica Patrick and Paul Hospenthal Are Divorcing

It's the end of the road for Danica Patrick and her husband of seven years, Paul Hospenthal.

"I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage. This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this," the racing star wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday. "He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward."

Patrick, 30, and Hospenthal, 47, a physical therapist and personal trainer who specializes in fitness for golfers, were married in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 2005 after becoming engaged on Thanksgiving Day 2004. They had reportedly met when she visited his physical therapy office for treatment of a hip injury after yoga. The couple had no children.

Patrick, a former IndyCar racer who finished a career-high third in the 2009 Indianapolis 500, made history in 2008 when she became the first female winner at the Indy Japan 300. In February, she made her NASCAR debut at the Daytona 500 but crashed her green car on the second lap.
